Please bear with us! YounGlobe is in its early stages and we're still working out kinks and adding content. We hope that you will be patient as we contiue to work diligently to deliver a dependable product that serves as a valuable source of information, networking, and opportunity.
YounGlobe is a for-profit organization, but we are also committed to making the world a better place. This fact is conveyed in our Mission & Value Statement but we understand that actions speak louder than words. Because of this, YounGlobe has decided to give 20% of our revenues to five pre-selected non-profit organizations, who are also doing awesome things to improve the world. We’re still deliberating on the fifth organization, but the four which have been chosen so far are charity: water, The Gathering Place, Not for Sale, and Unified for Unifat. We also aim to give our users the choice regarding which of these organizations to benefit. When a YounGlobe user makes a purchase, they will be asked to choose among the five non-profits.
If you are aware of a fifth organization that might fit well with our mission and make a good partner for YounGlobe, don’t hesitate to let us know!
When people see the face of younglobe.com, they see a new company with a small, but growing collection of content and resources. But YounGlobe isn’t entirely new. In fact, more than two years of comprehensive research and planning went in to the birth of this company before the timing was finally right. And now we are quickly approaching a need for seed funding. YounGlobe is centering itself in an industry rife with need and opportunity. This, combined with an innovative combination of revenue streams, will allow the company to operate at a projected operating profit of 84% by our third fiscal year. To learn more about our company, team, and comprehensive business plan, please don’t hesitate to contact YounGlobe founder, Ryan Frew, at ryan.frew@younglobe.com
So, you’re thinking about going abroad. But before you can embark on the trip of a lifetime, a lot of questions need to be answered. Where should you go? Will you be given any free time? How does this impact your college plans or your career plans? What kind of volunteering should you do? What organizations facilitate the volunteering that you want to participate in?
YounGlobe is here to help answer those questions. We’re building a community here and pulling together tons of resources all for you. If you’re thinking about volunteering abroad, you’re already on an awesome, unforgettable path forward. The next step is choosing a destination and a program. Let us help make it happen!
For many, the most difficult barrier to overcome when aiming to volunteer abroad is the cost. International volunteer trips typically range from $3,000 – $10,000 in price, depending on the program, length, and travel expenses. In order to offset this overwhelming price tag, the majority of volunteers choose to fundraise. And with fundraising, like anything else, knowledge is power.
At YounGlobe, we have the tools to maximize your fundraising efforts. From benevolent funds, to restaurant events, to online tools, to detailed reporting, YounGlobe promises you will raise more money with us, than without. Feel free to check out our site, but don’t hesitate to contact us so that we may assist you further.
Finally! It’s go time. The moment that you’ve been dreaming of. It’s time to meet new people, visit new cities, and help make the world a better place. You’ll learn fast, face exciting challenges, and inevitably gain experiences you would have never imagined possible. But cautionary measures still remain, right at the time when you’re most busy and least interested in being preoccupied with the technical details. Is everything in order with your Visa? Who will communicate with your insurer, program provider, and embassy in the event of an emergency? Who will be your voice in case you aren’t pleased with your volunteer placement?
Let YounGlobe help. Allow us to take over and help with the answers to these questions, which are often simply over the head of our young volunteers. And most of all, contact us so that we can back you up and give those who care about you a little peace of mind while you’re abroad.
This is the part that people often don’t think about, but it plays a huge role in the experience of international volunteering. The story plays out similarly for most everyone. After an incredible journey of volunteering and travel you return to your comfortable existence in the familiar territory of home. Boredom and restlessness strike. You will most likely yearn for more exciting opportunities similar to the one you just had, but it’s difficult to communicate your experiences to people who have never volunteered internationally, and besides, you don’t want them to feel like you aren’t happy to be home – they missed you!
Come back to YounGlobe; a network of people just like you. As our community grows, we will organize events where YounGlobe members can get together and socialize. Further, we can connect you with people in your area who volunteered with the same program and/or in the same place so you can relate your experiences. Or maybe just go abroad again, we’re here for that too!
